A new generation takes the helm

×
Having a horizon means having a path ahead to travel, where with each step forward, a new goal is revealed. This journey is the growth that every athlete aspires to, where the next challenge is more important than the one just completed, where fulfillment is not just momentary success but preparation for achieving the next objective.
This is sailing, which better than any other sport describes this difficult yet extraordinary path.
In our history, we have been aboard with glorious crews and formidable athletes, celebrating their successes and supporting them through difficult times. From this, we are increasingly aware that this great wealth of knowledge and experience can be inspiring and supportive for the new generations of sailors.
Enrico Chieffi, CEO SLAM
The nature around us and human experiences blend together every day in everything we do, where each person’s feelings become the heart of these sea and life stories.
For SLAM, educating the next generation also means giving them the tools to find their own path, encouraging each athlete to follow their dreams without obstacles, and appreciating their unique qualities. Real stories, reflecting Slam’s commitment to supporting young talents.
Davide Casetti, President of the RS21 Italian Class
Starting from April 4th to 6th, 2024, the new commitment of SLAM, developed in collaboration with the RS21 Italian Class, will kick off in Porto Rotondo. This commitment will materialize with the full support of the youngest sailors of the class. The Mentoring Program has ambitious goals that go beyond providing financial support for athletes’ expenses but also aims to accompany them in their sports growth journey through the contribution of “sailing legends” on the field.
In each of the 5 Acts of the RS21 Cup Yamamay 2024, crews will have the support of a sailing champion who will provide them with all the tools necessary to maximize their performance. Classroom lessons, water training, boat preparation, and emotion management, are just some of the activities that each mentor will develop with athletes in a path of constant growth as sailors, but especially as people.
